Our story
A little slice of Scandinavia in Collaroy.

The Vicar
Our father (literally).
Alva Brattgard is just that - The Vicar’s Daughter. Born in Sweden, Alva started baking at a young age. The Vicar knew his way around the scripture, not so much the kitchen. With family dinners leaving a little to be desired in the flavour department, she started baking to fill the gap.
What began as a hobby turned into a passion, then a profession. Working as a head baker across Sweden, Denmark and Spain, Alva always dreamed of opening a bakery of her very own. After visiting Sydney on a working holiday she fell in love with the Northern Beaches. So much that she decided to move back and pursue her dream of running a bakery of her own.
“We bake fresh every morning and sell until it’s gone.”

Baked in house
Fresh, each morning.
Drawing on Scandinavian bakery culture, we bake everything in house and fresh each morning. We keep baking right through the morning, so a steady supply of warm bread and pastries fills the shelves. Time it right and you’ll walk out with a still-warm bag of bread under your arm.
Come and find us.
We’re on Pittwater Road in Collaroy, Thursday through Sunday.
